Chiropractic care

"Health comes from within!"

Chiropractic health care is based on the premise that the human body has a natural restorative ability to maintain its optimal state of health, and to repair itself after injury or disease.

About chiropractic health care

The role of the chiropractor is to assist each individual's natural "curative process" in maintaining, improving and enhancing their musculoskeletal health.

Through the removal of interferences to nervous system function, correction of the body's joint mechanics, and assisting soft tissue healing, chiropractors are able to promote health. But it doesn't stop there: rehabilitation exercises, nutritional advice, workplace ergonomics and lifestyle counselling make up a large part of the job.

People don't need to be suffering from a significant injury to benefit from this form of care. Anyone who wishes to improve their musculoskeletal health can benefit from chiropractic care, and our techniques are safe and gentle enough to use on everyone from babies to senior citizens.

General information

Primary health care you can trust

Chiropractic is a scientifically valid and extremely safe method of primary health care. Chiropractors, like your General Practitioner, are trained to a high standard of proficiency and are fully qualified to diagnose and treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal ailments.

We work closely with other health care professionals and will exchange information when required, in the best interests of the patient. This will not be done without your prior consent.

Your visit

What to expect

01

First visit

During your initial visit you will be given some information about your present condition. It is important to us that you ask questions about any of the information that is given, or about any general health enquiries. Health care here is a collaborative process: you can help by keeping informed and sharing information.

02

Follow-up treatment

Subsequent treatments are scheduled according to average tissue healing rates and how your body is responding to the treatment programme. It is very helpful if you follow any "homework" you are given: icing instructions, specific stretches and exercise routines, nutritional supplements and ergonomic changes will all be fully explained at the time.

We will not schedule treatments if we feel the treatment will be of no benefit at that particular time.
